Salmon Miso Soup

 
 
 
 

INGREDIENTS

 

4 cups dashi soup

800ml water

8g Dashi powder

(Mix both together to make dashi soup)

1/2 Tbs Sake

1/2 Potato

1/4 Onion

2 Spring onion Stems

110g (1/4Lb)Salmon

 
 

PREPARATION

  1. Cut the salmon into single bite size. Then boil water and brush through the salmon in the water. (this will take out any impurities and fishy smell) Then wash through into cold water. Set aside.

  2. Peel the potato and cut into 8mm thick, half moons.

  3. Cut the onion long and into thin slices.

  4. Cut the spring onions into small pieces.

  5. In a sauce pan, add the dashi soup and sake. Followed by potato, onion and salmon. Bring to boil at medium heat. Remove any bubbles and cook until potatoes are soft, enough to poke with a toothpick.

  6. Introduce the miso paste the same way as miso base recipe (whisk with ladle).

  7. Once it boils with the miso, turn the heat off and add the spring onions
